Bridging the Gap in Developmental Disability Services

The All People of Color Developmental Disabilities Association (APOCDDA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to address the unique challenges faced by People of Color with developmental disabilities.

We recognize the systemic disparities in access to quality care, diagnosis, and culturally competent services. Our mission is to empower individuals and families through advocacy, education, and direct support services that honor cultural identity and promote inclusion.

With our EIN 87-1834669, all donations to APOCDDA are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Advocacy & Case Management

We navigate complex systems to ensure our clients receive the services and benefits they’re entitled to, with special attention to cultural barriers.

Family Support

Resources, counseling, and support groups for families caring for individuals with developmental disabilities in the POC community.

Independent Living Training

Skill-building programs focused on daily living, communication, and self-advocacy tailored to cultural needs.

Community Integration

Social activities, recreational programs, and community events that foster inclusion and combat isolation.

Educational Workshops

Culturally relevant workshops on rights, transitioning to adulthood, healthcare navigation, and more.

Cultural Competency Training

Providing training for service providers to better understand and serve the POC developmental disability community.

About Our Organization

Serving Oakland Since 1995

Founded in 1995, APOCDDA has been at the forefront of addressing disparities in developmental disability services for Oakland’s communities of color. We are a trusted resource for families navigating the challenges of developmental disabilities.

Our organization is led by Principal Officer Angeleter Pringle and governed by a dedicated Board of Directors who bring lived experience and professional expertise to our mission.

We maintain our 501(c)(3) status with the IRS (EIN: 87-1834669) and are registered with the California Attorney General’s Registry of Charitable Trusts.
